ROLE IN A NUTSHELL
As our Senior Garment Technician, you'll play a critical role in bringing Elka Collective's collections to life, ensuring every garment delivers the fit, quality and craftsmanship our customers expect.
Working closely with the Design, Production and Merchandising teams, you'll own the technical development process from concept through to production, providing expert guidance on garment construction, fit, grading and quality standards. Your technical expertise will help ensure our collections not only reflect the brand's elevated aesthetic but also deliver exceptional quality and consistency across every style.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Lead fit sessions across seasonal collections, providing expert technical guidance on fit, construction and garment performance
- Create and maintain detailed technical specifications throughout the development and sampling process
- Partner closely with Design to ensure garments achieve the intended fit, silhouette and design vision
- Work collaboratively with Production and offshore suppliers to deliver commercially viable, high-quality product
- Manage sample reviews, fit comments, grading and technical approvals through to bulk production
- Identify and resolve fit, construction and quality issues to ensure garments meet Elka Collective's premium standards
- Ensure all product complies with relevant safety, legal and quality requirements
- Drive consistency and accuracy across technical processes, documentation and critical path timelines
- Support and mentor the Garment Technician while helping manage workflow across the technical team
ABOUT YOU
- Proven experience as a Senior Garment Technician or Garment Technician within premium fashion, apparel or retail
- Strong expertise in garment construction, fit, grading, pattern making and quality standards
- Experience conducting fit sessions and translating design concepts into commercially successful product
- Strong understanding of women's apparel and premium garment construction techniques
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for product excellence
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across Design, Production and supplier partners
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
