ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

As a Footwear Product Developer, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end product development process—from concept to production. Working closely with the product manager, you will play a key role in supporting the HP team and daily functions. You’ll bring to life innovative and commercially successful footwear for the Australian & New Zealand markets.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Develop seasonal and core footwear products, forecast trends, and explore innovative ideas.
  • Create range stories, CAD drawings, and tech packs while ensuring fit consistency and cost management.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships, integrate feedback, and oversee product commercialisation.
  • Work with internal teams, global partners, and customers while reviewing product performance and managing samples.
  • Maintain communication with sales and retail teams, participate in key meetings, and gather feedback on product performance.
  • Conduct stock checks, ensure timely commercialisation of new products, and support planning processes.
  • Collaborate with the China-based team, adapt to changing priorities, and manage a diverse range of seasonal products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment by supporting team members, participating in team activities, and maintaining a tidy workspace.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Understanding of the fashion/manufacturing industry and knowledge of product/range management, preferably within the footwear industry. Technical knowledge relevant to footwear is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe design suite and/or Procreate.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent planning and organisation skills, ability to work autonomously, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills, team player, proactive approach to tasks, and a passion to learn.
