ABOUT DESIGNWORKS

Designworks is Brand Collective’s product and brand development powerhouse, partnering with some of the world’s most recognisable licensed and owned brands. We specialise in creating commercially strong, market-right product across kids, licensing and lifestyle categories—balancing creativity, trend, and technical excellence to deliver ranges that resonate with customers and perform in market.

Our teams bring brands to life through thoughtful design, deep consumer insight and strong collaboration across product, production and retail partners.

ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

As Senior Designer – Kids & Licensing (12-month FTC), you’ll lead the creative direction and end-to-end design development of seasonal kidswear and licensed ranges. Working closely with the Design Manager, Account Managers and cross-functional teams, you’ll drive innovative, on-brand collections that meet commercial targets while mentoring and uplifting the broader design team.

This is a hands-on leadership role where creativity, commercial thinking and technical expertise come together.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Translating brand DNA, licensor guidelines and customer insights into compelling, market-ready collections
  • Creating range concepts, mood boards, range boards and presentation materials
  • Designing to range plans, SKU counts and financial targets, using trend research and historical data
  • Managing the full sampling lifecycle from concept through to customer presentation
  • Preparing detailed tech packs, costings and specifications within PLM systems
  • Selecting fabrics, trims and finishes that balance quality, cost and design intent
  • Partnering closely with Merchandising, Production and QA to ensure timelines, fit and quality standards are met
  • Responding to performance feedback and post-season analysis to inform future ranges
  • Supporting range presentations, SMS processes and key customer meetings
  • Leading, mentoring and developing Designers and junior team members
  • Ensuring critical path deadlines are met across the design team
  •  Staying ahead of global kidswear, licensing and fashion trends

ABOUT YOU

  • 6–10+ years’ experience in kidswear and/or licensed apparel design within the fashion industry
  • Proven experience owning end-to-end design for a brand, category or business unit
  • Strong understanding of licensed brand guidelines and stakeholder expectations
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with exceptional drawing ability
  • Solid technical foundation across garment construction, fit, pattern making and grading
  • Confident working within financial parameters to achieve margin and cost targets
  • Experienced in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and deadlines
