ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

As a Casual Retail Assistant at Black Pepper Belconnen, you’ll bring our brand to life through genuine customer connections, thoughtful styling advice and exceptional service. You’ll help customers find pieces they love, support day-to-day store operations and keep our store looking its best.

Belconnen has a wonderful mix of local regulars and shoppers looking for something special, making every day an opportunity to connect with someone new. We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting to know customers, understands that great service is personal and brings a friendly, can-do attitude to every shift.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Deliver warm, genuine customer service that makes every shopper feel welcome and valued.
• Help customers discover pieces they’ll love, offering personalised styling advice and finding the right fit for their individual needs.
• Build lasting relationships with our Belconnen customers through friendly conversations and thoughtful service.
• Keep the store clean, organised and inviting, creating a shopping environment that reflects the Black Pepper experience.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently at the register.
• Replenish stock and help ensure our latest styles are available on the shop floor.
• Support inventory management, visual merchandising and the smooth running of daily store operations.
• Work collaboratively with your team to achieve sales targets, deliver store goals and create a positive atmosphere on every shift.

ABOUT YOU

• You love helping women feel confident in what they wear and take pride in making someone's day through great service and style advice.
• You have experience in a customer-facing retail or sales role and enjoy working as part of a team.
• You understand that every customer is different and can adapt your approach to suit their individual needs.
• You’re approachable, positive and confident communicating with a diverse range of customers.
• You’re reliable and can commit to an agreed shift pattern, with flexibility to help during peak trading periods.
• You enjoy building genuine connections, contributing to a welcoming store environment and being part of your local retail community.
• You bring enthusiasm, initiative and a can-do attitude, whether you're helping a customer find the perfect outfit or supporting your teammates behind the scenes.
