ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

As our Senior Merchandise Planner, you'll play a key leadership role in driving the commercial success of one of Brand Collective's largest and most established apparel brands. Working closely with Buying, Design, Marketing and Retail teams, you'll develop strategic merchandise plans that maximise sales, profitability and inventory performance across the business.

Leading and mentoring a Merchandise Planner and Allocator, you'll combine commercial insight with strong analytical thinking to influence key business decisions, optimise inventory and help shape the future direction of the Black Pepper product range.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Develop and deliver seasonal merchandise plans, forecasts and budgets that drive sales, profitability and inventory productivity
  • Analyse trading performance, identifying opportunities and risks while providing commercially focused recommendations to stakeholders
  • Optimise inventory, replenishment and markdown strategies to maximise sell-through and minimise excess stock
  • Partner closely with Buying, Design, Marketing and Retail teams to align product strategies with customer demand and seasonal trading plans
  • Lead assortment planning across stores and channels, ensuring the right product mix is available at the right time
  • Present weekly and seasonal performance reporting, providing clear insights that support business decisions
  • Mentor and develop a Merchandise Planner and Allocator, providing coaching, guidance and day-to-day support while fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Drive continuous improvements across planning processes, reporting and inventory management

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven Merchandise Planning experience within fashion, apparel or retail, ideally in a high-volume environment
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading team members, or ready to step into a leadership role
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to turn data into actionable business insights
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using merchandise planning systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence cross-functional teams
  • Highly organised with the ability to balance strategic planning and day-to-day trading priorities
