ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key leadership role within the Finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Finance & Compliance. With two direct reports, you’ll oversee financial reporting and compliance obligations for our Licensed Brands and Apparel divisions. From managing audit and tax requirements to refining financial procedures and supporting strategic transformation projects, this role is both hands-on and highly collaborative, perfect for a senior finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, retail environment.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Lead and mentor a team of two Accountants
  • Manage the timely and accurate delivery of monthly financial reporting
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and annual reports
  • Support the audit process and maintain strong relationships with external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with tax and finance regulations including GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, Royalty Withholding and Income Tax
  • Collaborate closely with the Payroll Manager to reconcile PAYG, Superannuation, and other obligations
  • Develop, maintain, and document financial accounting policies and procedures
  • Solve technical accounting issues and ensure accurate treatment across the business
  • Monitor and manage corporate overheads and identify opportunities for cost reduction
  • Deliver reports and analysis highlighting financial risks and opportunities
  • Champion finance transformation initiatives and strategic objectives
  • Streamline and improve month-end and reporting processes
  • Drive a performance culture through coaching, training, and aligning the team to business strategy
  • Partner with stakeholders across commercial, brand, payroll, and shared services

 ABOUT YOU

  • You bring 5+ years of senior financial accounting experience
  • CA or CPA qualified, with Big 4 background highly desirable
  • Retail or FMCG industry experience is a strong advantage
  • Proven leadership capability with direct team management
  • Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and communication across all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to influence decision-making
  • Experience leading or contributing to finance transformation projects
