Our agile and creative team manages the design, development, production and marketing of owned, licensed and private label apparel, footwear and sports equipment across a portfolio of around 25 brands from Everlast and Umbro, to Ed Hardy and Volley to Bluey and The Wiggles.
We are one of Australia’s leading suppliers to major and independent retailers, with a growing online presence across our 3 e-commerce platforms – Umbro, Volley and Everlast.
ROLE IN A NUTSHELL
As Product Developer for Sports Equipment, you will lead and manage this new product strategy within Designworks, spearheading the next exciting stage in our growth creating new season range plans for this exciting portfolio.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Create new season range plans, using previous season’s history, trend research and plan repeat styles
- Development in line with license style guides & retailer trends
- Ensure designs match retailer requirements and cost requirements
- Maintain and update files in line with customer requirements within agreed timeframes
- Monitor product submissions, including quality swatches, lab dips, prints, trims and fabric qualities within the required production time allocated for the approval process and advise
- Track production submissions and approvals to ensure on-time delivery
- Liaise with factories and internal parties regarding problem-solving and design approvals, ensuring your product meets your desired final outcome
- Liaise with QA techs on styling throughout the production process. Including, PP and Shipment sampling stages
- Provide open communication between design teams, give and receive open feedback & ideas to focus on continual personal and team improvement
- Design and produce Seasonal Design Boards and CAD artwork as required by Account Managers
- Manage SMS process to ensure Account Managers and Customers have required samples on time
- Assist Account Manager with meeting preparations
- Analysis of sales data to provide clear reporting of sell through and product
- Complete in-season & post-season review for each customer, brand and category with Planning
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will come with..
- Minimum 5-years’ experience within the Fitness Accessories industry with progressively responsible experience for category creativity, development, and design.
- Experience within Adobe creative suite, with an expertise within Illustrator
- Previous experience in a product development role within the Fitness Accessories industry
- Solid understanding of product development process and manufacturing principles
- An ability to negotiate with suppliers, manage relationships and key accounts
- Experience managing offshore manufacturing
- A sound knowledge of the competitor landscape and key trends
- Strong computer program skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Tertiary qualification in Textile, fashion design or similar
