Brand Collective is seeking an accomplished Managing Director to lead the strategic and commercial direction of its licensed brand portfolio, including globally recognised brands such as Reebok, Champion, Superdry, Canada Goose, Happy Socks and more.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive role carries full P&L accountability across Retail, Wholesale and Digital. Operating within Brand Collective's Centre of Excellence (COE) model, you will be responsible for driving portfolio performance, strengthening global brand partnerships and unlocking new opportunities for growth.

You will lead a high-performing team and maximise the potential of the portfolio through strong brand leadership, commercial discipline and a clear focus on sustainable growth.

THE ROLE & YOUR IMPACT

  • Set the strategic direction and lead the commercial performance of the portfolio, driving sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Hold full P&L accountability across Retail, Wholesale and Digital, delivering revenue, margin and EBITDA targets, leading budgets and forecasts, and driving commercial discipline across pricing, promotions, inventory, sell-through and full-price performance.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing leadership team, setting clear direction, building capability and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and commercial excellence.
  • Own and strengthen key relationships with global brand owners, licensors and major wholesale partners such as David Jones and Myer, leading the negotiation, management and renewal of licensing agreements and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new licensing partnerships, portfolio expansion, new categories, markets and distribution channels.
  • Lead brand, product and category strategy, including range development, buying and merchandise planning, ensuring each brand has a clear, differentiated proposition aligned with licensor brand standards.
  • Partner with the COEs, including Marketing, Digital, Wholesale and Retail, setting clear brand priorities and mobilising cross-functional teams to deliver an integrated, customer-led omnichannel strategy, determining where each brand shows up and ensuring a consistent brand proposition across every channel.
  • Provide strategic leadership and commercial insight to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the broader direction and growth of Brand Collective.

ABOUT YOU

  • Extensive senior leadership experience within multi-brand retail, licensed brands, apparel, footwear, sport or consumer businesses.
  • Proven track record leading a sizeable commercial business with full P&L accountability across multiple channels, delivering business growth and improved profitability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading licensed brand portfolios, managing key licensor relationships and developing strategic partnerships with global brand owners and commercial partners.
  • Deep understanding of Retail, Wholesale and Digital business models, with experience driving an integrated omnichannel strategy.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of brand strategy, product, buying, merchandising, planning and category management.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, with a proven ability to identify new business opportunities, drive portfolio expansion and balance long-term brand development with short-term financial performance.
  • An engaging and influential leader who builds high-performing teams, develops capability and brings cross-functional teams together around shared outcomes, ideally within a matrix or Centre of Excellence model.
  • Exceptional relationship management, negotiation and communication skills, with the confidence to influence at executive and board level.
