ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

This is a hands-on Junior Footwear Designer role supporting the end-to-end design and development of footwear and accessories within Designworks. You’ll work closely with Product Developers and cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life, balancing creativity with commercial outcomes, timelines, and cost targets.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Support footwear design from concept through to production, ensuring brand alignment
• Create CADs, technical drawings, and detailed tech packs for development and production
• Assist with sample development, fit sessions, and product refinement
• Research trends, materials, and competitors to inform design direction
• Maintain critical path timelines and support on-time delivery across key milestones
• Manage design admin including sample tracking, specs, and production documentation
• Collaborate with suppliers, production, and internal teams to bring product to market
• Ensure designs align with cost targets and support margin requirements

ABOUT YOU

You’re a detail-oriented and creative junior designer with a passion for footwear and a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll bring:

• A relevant qualification in Footwear, Fashion, or Industrial Design
• Previous experience or internships in footwear or accessories design (preferred)
• Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator & Photoshop)
• Solid sketching and visual communication skill
• Understanding of materials, construction, and product development (ideal)
• High attention to detail with strong organisation and time management
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work across multiple teams
• A commercial mindset with an interest in product-to-cost and retail performance
