At Brand Collective, our people are at the heart of how we create extraordinary experiences. We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of People – Retail to lead the People & Culture agenda across our retail portfolio.

Reporting to the Group General Manager – People & Culture, you will be a trusted strategic partner to our Chief Operating Officer, Group Heads of Retail and retail leadership teams.

Leading a team of Retail Business Partners and Advisors, you will translate our Group Retail strategy into a practical people plan. You will balance the demands of a complex retail environment with strategic initiatives that strengthen capability, enhance the team member experience and support commercial outcomes.

This influential leadership role spans employee relations, award compliance, talent and succession, leadership capability, workforce planning, reward, engagement and change.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Partner with the Chief Operating Officer and senior retail leaders to translate the Group Retail strategy into a practical people plan.
• Lead and develop the Retail People & Culture team, ensuring strong business partnering while progressing strategic priorities.
• Lead the retail people agenda across employee relations, award compliance, team member experience, engagement and retention.
• Drive talent, succession and leadership capability, building strong pipelines and career pathways across the retail portfolio.
• Influence workforce structures and reward, including remuneration, benchmarking and incentive design.
• Partner with Payroll, Safety and business leaders on award compliance, WorkCover and return-to-work requirements.
• Lead people and culture change initiatives, while driving continuous improvement through technology, automation and AI.
• Represent the needs of retail across broader Brand Collective People & Culture initiatives and lead in a way that reflects our values.

ABOUT YOU

You are a commercially minded People & Culture leader with strong experience in a fast-paced, multi-site retail or frontline environment. You will bring:

• 6+ years of progressive People & Culture experience, including senior business partnering or Head of People experience.
• Experience supporting a large, dispersed frontline workforce, ideally within retail or a comparable environment.
• Strong employment relations expertise, including award interpretation, complex case management and Fair Work Commission matters.
• Experience managing WorkCover and return-to-work matters.
• Proven experience in talent, succession and leadership capability across multi-site teams.
• Experience leading complex people and culture change initiatives from planning through to implementation.
• Strong project management and stakeholder skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Commercial acumen, experience with org design, remuneration, benchmarking and incentive design.
• Confidence to influence and challenge senior leaders while delivering practical, retail-ready solutions.
• Curiosity and openness to using AI and technology to improve people processes.
