THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

As the Shoes & Sox Buyer, you will take ownership of a dynamic children’s footwear category, curating ranges that balance fit, function and style for every stage of a child’s development. You will combine trend insight, customer understanding and data to deliver ranges that excite our customers and drive strong commercial outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Partner with the Buying Manager to shape the product and brand direction across your category
  • Build and execute commercially strong ranges across third party footwear brands
  • Analyse sales, size curves and customer demand to optimise range performance
  • Drive in season performance through trading, reporting and actionable insights
  • Build and manage strong supplier relationships, including negotiations and range reviews
  • Attend market appointments and previews to select ranges aligned to customer and business needs
  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Retail and Marketing teams to ensure strong product execution
  • Support product storytelling and knowledge across stores through regular engagement
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve performance, processes and outcomes

ABOUT YOU

You are a passionate and commercially minded Buyer who thrives in a fast paced environment and understands the nuances of children’s footwear.

You bring a curious mindset, strong relationships and a genuine passion for delivering product that meets both customer needs and commercial goals.

You will also have:

  • Proven buying experience within footwear or a closely related category
  • A strong understanding of size curves, fit requirements and range planning in footwear
  • Well developed trend awareness, with the ability to translate insights into commercial ranges
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to balance creativity and results
  • Highly driven and motivated, with a focus on delivering outcomes
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A track record of driving category growth and improving profitability
  • Confidence working with data, with strong Excel and analytical capability
  • A collaborative approach, you enjoy contributing to a team and driving broader business success
