ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

We’re on the hunt for a superstar Assistant Store Manager to join our Shoes & Sox team at Westfield Southland!

Located in one of Melbourne’s major shopping destinations, Southland is a vibrant retail hub bringing together fashion, lifestyle, dining and family-friendly entertainment. With a diverse mix of retailers and plenty to keep families busy, it’s the perfect place to create memorable shopping experiences for local families and visitors from across Melbourne’s bayside and south-eastern suburbs.

As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll be right in the heart of the action, helping lead a passionate team in a busy shopping centre environment where no two days are the same. From helping parents find the perfect first walkers to fitting school shoes and everyday sneakers, you’ll play a key role in making every visit to Shoes & Sox a positive one.

If you’re a natural motivator, love all things footwear and know how to bring the good vibes while smashing sales targets, we want to hear from you! You’ll support the Store Manager, inspire your team to deliver exceptional service and help drive the store’s success.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

No two days are the same at Southland, but here’s a sneak peek at what you’ll be up to:

• Be the Store Manager’s right-hand person: Help lead the day-to-day operations of the store, keeping everything running smoothly and the team motivated, engaged and ready to go.
• Lead from the front: Set the standard for outstanding customer service, creating a welcoming experience for every family who walks through our doors.
• Make every fitting count: Help parents and carers navigate growing feet, finding the right fit, comfort and style for every little adventure.
• Drive sales and smash KPIs: Keep an eye on performance, celebrate wins and turn opportunities into results in a dynamic shopping centre environment.
• Coach, develop and inspire: Support your team to build their product knowledge, fitting confidence and customer service skills while celebrating their individual strengths.
• Bring the store to life: Maintain engaging visual merchandising and a store presentation that reflects the fun, energy and expertise of Shoes & Sox.
• Keep stock in check: Support inventory management, stock accuracy and loss prevention to keep the store operating at its best.
• Champion a safe and positive workplace: Follow all OH&S requirements and help create a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.

ABOUT YOU

You’re a people person, a team energiser and a customer experience champion. You love a busy retail environment, enjoy helping others succeed and know that the little details can make a big difference — especially when it comes to fitting kids’ feet!

You’ll bring:

• Experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Retail Supervisor or experienced retail team leader.
• Confidence in leading, coaching and motivating a team to achieve great results.
• A warm, approachable personality and the patience to work with kids and their families.
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• A proven track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs.
• Strong skills in stock control, visual merchandising and store operations.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, hands-on attitude and the flexibility to thrive in a busy shopping centre environment.
• A willingness to learn about kids’ footwear and our expert fitting approach.
